I employ various modalities which include cognitive behavioral therapy, narrative therapy and individual emotionally focused therapy. In working with me, therapy sessions are designed to provide a safe place for self exploration, self validation and self compassion. The challenges of depression, anxiety, grief, loss, trauma and life transitions are dealt with in a manner that encompasses all that makes us both similar and unique by taking into account important factors such as our race, gender, sexual orientation, culture, age, health and our family of origin.

Call during free 15 minute consultation for prices. | The frequency of sessions reflects what works best for the individual. Sessions are an hour minimum and can be extended to 2hrs. Frequency can be once a week, several times a week or once a month and is in keeping with the rhythm of the client’s needs.

The process of intimate adult connection explores attachment styles not as a means of classifying one another but as a means of understanding ways in which adults relate to one another. I employ Emotionally Focused Therapy as a means of helping couples identify the dance of intimacy that enables them to thrive together all the while remaining true to their individual selves. Emotionally Focused Therapy is an evidence based approach created by Sue Johnson and is proven effective in couples work.

Call during free 15 minute consultation for prices. | The frequency of sessions reflects what works best for the couple. Sessions may range from one hour to two. The couple’s process involves both individual and conjoined sessions. Private weekend couples intensives are also offered.
Contextual Therapy
Understand how intergenerational dynamics influence one’s everyday.
As a woman of color, a daughter of immigrants and an immigrant myself, I have a particular interest and passion in addressing the challenges of individuals whose sense of self and connection with others is often intertwined with societal, cultural, racial, political and economical challenges. In using contextual therapy created by Ivan Boszormenyi-Nagy, I explore the cultural, ethnic and racial checks and balances across generations which can be supportive and oppressive.

Issues explored may include but are not limited to topics pertaining to immigration, traditional belief systems, sexual orientation, gender, race, age and expectations of the family of origin.
Trauma Therapy

In my practice, I employ Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). I address post-traumatic stress disorder. I also address other forms of trauma, seemingly insidious, which nevertheless significantly contribute to the magnitude of one’s anxiety and other emotional behavioral challenges. These behavioral challenges may often manifest as depression, anger, volatility, avoidance; relationship problems and disruptive behaviors. I have been humbled enough in this work to realize that trauma in many cases is a pervasive theme in the narratives of many individuals and relationships.

Virtual therapies are done via Zoom and Simple Practice Audiolink. Get help from the comfort of your own home.
Hybrid therapy
Hybrid therapy is a combination of virtual therapy and in-person therapy. Best for people who need more flexibility.
In-person therapy
I offer therapy for individuals and couples in NYC. Sessions are now on hold because of the Covid-19 pandemic.

I do not accept health insurance.

I am an out of network provider. I am open to providing the necessary documentation for out of networking billing, keeping in mind that I cannot guarantee that the services rendered will meet the requirements your respective insurance carrier defines as out of network care.
Ideally, prior to the first visit, it is recommended that one contact one’s plan to verify coverage and out of network deductibles.
